Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can I have a copy of the Rules?
A: We can't give out rules to non-players...consider the rules a trade secret...much time and effort was invested in developing a set of rules and a game set up that would work smoothly. The rules are only distributed to active players.
-
Can I kill my assassin in defense?
A: You can shoot your attacker, you can stop but can't kill them...it is all explained in the rules... The full rules will reveal all, but rest assured, it is fair.
-
What is the point/purpose of teams?
A: Teams allow you to work with friends and they make it a bit easier to take out other teams or individual players as you can divide the stalking work and coordinate your attacks. There are advantages and disadvantages to being a lone assassin or a team, though both are fairly evened out...it is up to you to decide which advantages/disadvantages serve the way you play
the game best. -
What if I have to leave town/travel outside the city?
A: If you leave for longer than a few days, we inform your killer of the fact and upon your return you are required to provide 2 locations (not home or work) where you will be for a minimum of 1.5 hours.
-
How much water must hit to kill?
A: As far as how much water...a single squirt will do...it's not based on quantity it's whether you are hit or not and whether the hit came intentionally. For example, if someone threw a water grenade at you and it exploded while you were running and got a bit of your shoe wet, you would be dead...if on the other hand someone dropped their gun and it broke and hit your shoe, that would not count.
Hence the motto:
Stay Dry. -
Can I spray a large group my target is a member of, hitting all of them?
A: You are assassins not hit men. The Shadow Government expects our agents to kill with precision, stealth and style. Random blastings are not respected. You must hit your target intentionally.
-
How long does the game actually last? One week, a month, etc..
A: Three weeks. If there is no single winner in that time, the game goes into a week of Sudden Death. The targets and rules change a bit in the Sudden Death round...and it is ridiculously fun. That is all that can be said about that...for now...
-
What is the cash prize?
A: Depends on the number of people that play. Probably about $500...perhaps
more, perhaps a bit less... -
Can I kill anyone playing the game?
A: You cannot kill a person if you do not have them assigned to you.
-
How do I get my assignment?
A: You must come pick them up in person. There are no exceptions to this rule. We will be emailing players to let them know the locations for package pick-up. Pick up will occur on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday prior to the beginning of the game.
-
What's your process for screening out overzealous freaks?
A: You must pick up your assassination packages in person and your ID is checked. Keep in mind, we have ALL the contact information for people, it is very easy to report them to the police if things get out of hand. That said, we have never had any problems with any of our players. THAT said, there is always a chance there will be a first time and you play at your own risk.
-
How many people did you have last year? How many do you expect this year?
A: About 150 last year...though we may be limiting the game to 125 this year...maybe...
-
Can a team pay using only one persons' paypal account or does everyone sign up independently??
A: You can play through a single account, but make sure to note what team you are paying for and ALL the individual names of the team members.
